Add Physical Resources to a Function

Within the "Resources" left-hand navigation panel, select "Physical Resources."  On this page, you will indicate which physical resources are needed for this function.

CADMIUM RECOMMENDS

We advise that all individual resources and bundled resources are added to Logistics prior to assigning resources to a function.  Ad-hoc individual resources can be added on this page.  However, bundled resources must be created within the "Setup" page of Logistics before assigning a bundle to a function.  Please see Add New Resource Bundle.  Additionally, individual and bundled resources can be assigned to multiple functions using the Resource Scheduler tool.

To add an individual resource, select the "ADD RESOURCES TO FUNCTION" link.  Then, select the radio button next to "Assign Individual Resources" (Fig. 1).

Within the pop-up window, select the Resource Type.  Please note that Resource Types must be previously added on the "Setup" page.  Check out page XX to learn more about how to add resource types.

Then, enter a label for the resource.  Additionally, you can enter the price per item, unit, quantity, and description for the resource.  However, these are not required fields.  Then, select the blue "SAVE" button.

The newly added resource will be displayed on the resource list.  If at any point you need to increase or decrease the quantity, you can do so on this page.  If a resource needs to be removed from the list, select the gray "X" button at the end of the row (Fig. 5).

All individual resources assigned to the bundle will be added to the list below.  If at any point you need to increase or decrease the quantity of a resource, you can do so on this page.  If a resource needs to be removed from the list, select the gray "X" button at the end of the row (Fig. 7).

If you make adjustments to a resource that was a part of a bundle, it will NOT update the bundle within the system.  For example, if you remove a resource that was a part of a bundle, it will NOT remove the resource from the bundle within the system.
