Appointments in the mobile app allow attendees to schedule one-on-one meetings through chat.
NOTE
This feature depends on App Users and Profile Sharing, which enable attendee-to-attendee communication.
Requirements for Mobile App Appointments
Appointments can only be enabled when:
- App User Profile Sharing is turned on.
- Chats are enabled in the app.
- The Turn On Appointments setting is Enabled.
Profile sharing allows users to communicate with each other. Because appointments are sent through chat, profile sharing must be active for appointments to function.
Where to Enable Appointments (Mobile App)
Navigate to:
- Mobile App module > Settings page > People tab > General sub-tab.
- Scroll down to the App User section > Turn On Appointments option.
- Set Turn On Appointments to Yes.
How Appointments Work in the App
- Users share their profile.
- Attendees start a one-on-one Chat.
- Appointment requests are sent within Chats.
- Accepted appointments appear on the attendee's My Schedule page.
Organizers do not have access to appointment details or attendee meeting activities.
Website and Mobile App Usage
If your event also has an accompanying Eventscribe Website:
- Appointments and Chat messages are shared between the app and the website.
- Users can send, accept, or cancel appointment requests from either platform.
- Messages or Appointments made on one platform automatically appear on the other.
Turning Off Appointments
- Applies to both the mobile app and the website.
- Prevents users from creating new appointment requests.
- Does not remove previously scheduled appointments from attendee schedules or calendars.
If a problem occurs during your event, we recommend turning off the appointments feature to help mitigate any issues.
When turning off appointments, existing meetings will remain visible on My Schedule for users.
Event Organizer Notes
- Organizers cannot see who attendees are meeting with.
- No appointment analytics or reporting are currently available.
- Appointment activity is fully attendee-controlled through chat.
- Appointments and chat messages are attendee-driven and remain private.
