Configuring Developer Accounts

To have a Branded Container App in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, your organization must first register for iOS and Android developer accounts. Follow the steps below to get started.

Getting an Apple Developer Account

1. Sign in

• Log in with an Apple ID at the enrollment page and select Start Your Enrollment. If you don't already have an Apple ID, you’ll need to create one before proceeding.

2. Enable two-factor authentication

• Apple requires two-factor authentication for all Developer accounts. Your organization will need access to an iOS device running iOS 9 or later or a Mac running OS X El Capitan or later. This device should not be someone’s personal phone or computer.
• Follow Apple's steps to enable two-factor authentication.

3. Accept the Developer Agreement

• Review and agree to the Developer Agreement, check the acknowledgement box, and click Submit.

4. Enter your organization details

• Select your entity type (most organizations will choose Company / Organization) and click Continue.
• Confirm that you’re authorized to sign legal agreements on behalf of your organization.
• Provide your personal contact information, and if needed, your organization's details.
• If you don't know your D-U-N-S number, you can look it up during enrollment.
• Click Continue once everything is complete.

5. Pay the $99 annual fee

• Click Purchase to enter your billing and credit card information.
• Select Continue, then Place Order Now.
• Apple typically approves accounts within 3–5 business days. If approval takes longer, reach out to Apple for assistance.

6. Add Cadmium to your Developer Account

• Once Apple approves your developer account, you will next add Cadmium to your developer account. In order to manage the full app submission and publishing process on your behalf, we need permission to your developer account.

Getting a Google Developer Account

1. Sign in

• Go to the Google Play Console and sign in with the Google Account you’d like to use for your organization. If you don't already have a Google Account, you'll need to create one before proceeding.

2. Choose your account type

• Select An organization or business as your account type (rather than Personal), then continue.
• Organization accounts require a D-U-N-S number. If your organization doesn't already have one, you can request it for free from Dun & Bradstreet. This can take up to 30 days, so plan ahead.

3. Accept the Developer Distribution Agreement

• Review and agree to the Google Play Developer Distribution Agreement, check the acknowledgement box, and continue.

4. Pay the $25 one-time registration fee

• Enter your billing and credit card information and complete the payment.
• Unlike Apple, Google charges a one-time $25 registration fee rather than an annual fee.

5. Complete your account and developer profile

• Link a Google payments profile that contains your organization's legal name and address.
• Enter your developer name, your organization's details, and your contact information (both the contact and developer email addresses and phone numbers).

6. Verify your information

• Confirm your contact and developer email addresses and phone numbers using the one-time passwords Google sends during registration.
• Before you can publish, Google also requires you to verify your organization's identity (the legal name and address on your payments profile). Verification can take a few days to complete.

7. Add Cadmium to your developer account

• Once Google approves your developer account, you will next add Cadmium to your developer account. In order to manage the full app submission and publishing process on your behalf, we need permission to your developer account.
