Upload Task Types

This guide outlines the available Upload Task types in Harvester, their use cases, supported formats, publishing behaviors, and configuration notes.

Upload (Slides)

The Upload (Slides) task allows presenters to submit slide decks for each presentation they are assigned to. Each user can upload their own unique file.

Key Details

• One slide deck is collected per presenter for each presentation.
• If multiple users are assigned to a presentation, each user can upload their own slide deck.
• The task can be configured to auto-publish to eventScribe products immediately after upload.
• Animations and embedded videos will be removed during the publishing process.

Available in Express, Standard, and Pro Education Harvesters

Accepted File Types: .ppt, .pptx, .pdf

Upload (Handouts)

The Upload (Handouts) task allows users to submit handout materials for each presentation they are assigned to. Each user may upload their own file.

Key Details

• One handout file can be uploaded per presenter for each presentation.

• If multiple users are assigned to a presentation, each user can upload their own handout.
• Handout files may include multiple pages, but only one file is allowed per user.
• If a presenter has multiple handouts to share, they must combine them into a single file before uploading.
• This task can be configured to auto-publish directly to eventScribe products and will appear in the handout “slot.”
• Animations and embedded videos will be removed during the publishing process.

Upload (Posters)

The Upload (Posters) task is used to collect digital poster files for each presentation. Only one poster file is allowed per presentation.

Key Details

• Only one poster file can be uploaded per presentation, regardless of how many users are assigned to it.
• For best publishing results, we recommend a high-resolution PDF with an aspect ratio of 16:9.
• The poster must be one slide only (a single page).
• If a multi-page file is uploaded, only the first page will be published.
• This task can be configured to auto-publish directly to Eventscribe Website and Mobile App products.
• Animations and embedded videos will be removed during the publishing process.

Available in Express, Standard, and Pro Poster Harvesters, Not available in Education Harvester

Upload Publishing Options

Education Harvester

• Each user can be assigned one Upload (Slides) task and one Upload (Handouts) task.

Poster Harvester

• Each user can be assigned one Upload (Posters) task.

General Publishing Rules

• If an upload task is configured to accept multiple files, only the first upload slot will publish to the Eventscribe Website and Mobile App.
  • This first slot must be marked as “required.”
• Upload tasks that are set to auto-publish are indicated by a blue cloud icon in the Task List.

Upload (Users)

Use the Upload (Users) task to collect files from individual users that should not be published to the Eventscribe Website and Mobile App. This task is ideal for collecting items such as CVs, bank information, or other sensitive documents.

Key Details

• Uploads are user-specific and not tied to presentations.
• The task supports multiple file uploads per user.
• In the Task List, user-based upload tasks are marked with a green silhouette icon.
