Adding An Image To A Message

Place your cursor where you would like to insert your image in the message then click on the Image tool in the toolbar (Fig. 1):

This will open the Image Properties window which is broken down into three tabs:

  1. Image Info: where you will upload your image and set properties like size, spacing, and word wrapping
  2. Link: optional--if you would like your image to link to something, you can specify the URL here
  3. Advanced: optional--you may enter any advanced styling information here

Image Info Tab

The Image Info tab contains the following (Fig. 2):

  • URL field: the absolute file path for your image. When you use the browse server button to select/upload a file, this field will automatically be filled in. It will typically look something like this: https://imgsvr.edgereg.com/ERImg/01/23/45/filename.jpg
  • Browse Server button: click here to upload a new image to the EventRebels server or to find and select an image already uploaded to the EventRebels server
  • Alternative Text field: the text that will be displayed if the image cannot displayed--this text should describe the image for anyone who cannot view it. Images may not display if the user has a poor internet connection, the image file is deleted, or if the user utilizes a screen reader.
  • Width field: use this field to edit the width of the image. When you upload a new image, it will automatically be set to the maximum width of that image file.
  • Height fielduse this field to edit the height of the image. When you upload a new image, it will automatically be set to the maximum height of that image file.
  • Lock Ratio button: when the ratio is locked, any updates to the width field will automatically update the height field (and vice versa) in order to maintain the correct ratio. If you would like to edit the width and height independently, click this button to unlock the ratio. 
  • Reset Size button: click this button to reset the width and height fields to the image's original width and height. 
  • Border field: enter a number to add a border to the image, this number represents the pixel width of the border
  • HSpace field: enter a number to add horizontal space around the image (top and bottom), this number represents the height of the space in pixels
  • VSpace field: enter a number to add vertical space around the image (left and right), this number represents the width of the space in pixels
  • Alignment field: select an alignment to set the image's position in relation to the text around it. Leave the alignment set to "" if you do not want to have word wrapping around the image.
  • Preview window: a preview of the image based on the settings applied on this tab

Link Tab

The Link tab contains the following (Fig. 3):

  • URL field: if you would like your image to be a clickable link to another web page or file, enter the URL for the link. When you use the Browse Server button to link to a file, the URL will automatically be filled in.
  • Browse Server button: utilize this button if you would like to link to a file (like a document) instead of a web page. You can click on the Browse Server button to upload a file or select a file that has previously been uploaded. 
  • Target field: set a target to determine how your link opens when it is clicked on. For example, select "New Window (_blank)" to set the link to open in a new tab/window of the browser.

Advanced Tab
