Overview of Tile Types

This article will provide a brief description of each of the tile types available.  If you have any questions on the different types of tiles and their applications, please contact your App Project Manager for more information or examples.

Ad Collection

The Ad Collection tile type will display a list of images in a random order.  These images are linked to a web page that the user will be brought to upon selecting the tile.

Countdown

The Countdown tile type will display as a countdown (days, hours, minutes, and seconds can be shown) to any date which you choose.  Often, this is configured to countdown to the main event.

Hero Image

The Hero Image tile type can be used to display images in both landscape and portrait mode.  By selecting these images, the user will be brought to an optional web link.

Icon (Classic)

The Icon tile type will allow you to quickly link a web page or perform a predefined action through selecting this icon (Fig. 1).  This is the most common type of tile.

The Image tile type offers the ability to display an image (Fig. 2).  This image can optionally be linked to a web page destination or to internal pages within the app.

QR Code

The QR Code tile type will display the user’s QR code (Fig. 3).  Upon selecting, the user will be brought to a QR code scanner.  Here, they can scan other QR codes to obtain contact info from other users or to favorite presentations.  This can also be used for self check-in.
