- Begin by accessing http://localhost/ on the device that will be used as the Workstation. This will display a Station code that will be used to activate the device.
CADMIUM RECOMMENDS
We recommend sharing this with your System Operator for the Speaker Ready System.
Speakers will use a Workstation device to review, update or upload presentations onsite. Access to the Internet is required to activate a Workstation device. After the device is activated, it can operate offline. For more general information on activating Speaker Ready System, review the Activating Speaker Ready System for your Event article.
IMPORTANT NOTE
When the Workstation device is added and activated in the Stations module in Eventscribe Onsite, the system will automatically pull the host name from that device. Please follow these directions to change the host name for the Workstation device prior to activating it in Onsite.
NOTE
Before you activate a Workstation device, you must first activate the Controller device.
Activating a Workstation Device
To add and activate a Workstation device, follow these steps:
- On a different device, which does not need to be on the same network as the Speaker Ready System, access the Stations module in Eventscribe Onsite.
NOTE
If you cannot access Eventscribe Onsite or do not have access to the Stations module, contact the Event planner.
- Navigate to the Workstations tab in the Stations module and select +Add Workstation.
- Enter the Station Code displayed on the device you are activating.
- Select the Controller that you want to connect the Workstation to.
- Select Add.
- It may take a few seconds for the Workstation to fully activate. Once it is activated, it will show up with an online status and the Workstation name will be automatically generated.
NOTE
If you do not see the Workstation in the list after a few minutes, please refresh the Onsite Workstation tab.
- The screen on the device you are activating will update to display the Workstation screen.
- To add and activate additional Workstations, select Add and choose Workstations from the drop-down menu and repeat steps 1-6.
