EdgeReg offers the ability for planners to design badge layouts for their attendees and then generate those badges into a PDF, which can then be printed via any desktop inkjet or laser printer on standard badge stock type paper, such as Avery or pcNametag. Basic badges are generally preferred for smaller events with manageable attendee totals.
Basic badges are traditionally used when the badges can be pre-printed by planners before the event and handed out onsite at the check-in desk. Planners use pre-printed PDF badges when there are:
- limited walk-ins and changes onsite
- volunteers or staff available for handing out badges
- registration desk staff available to handle limited registration and badge related support
Basic badges can also be printed as needed onsite, though it is a process that only registration desk staff can complete. Planners print Basic badges onsite when there are:
- needs for unique badge layouts or badge sheets with tickets that self service badge kiosks don't allow for
- larger numbers of walk-ins and changes onsite
- registration desk staff and hardware available to handle all registration and badge related support
