This guide outlines the devices, operating systems, browsers, and network requirements needed to use Eventscribe products. Use it to confirm your setup before an event so you have the smoothest possible experience.
Quick Reference
| Product | Platforms Supported | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Eventscribe Mobile App (Attendees) | iOS, Android | On-the-go event access |
| Eventscribe Website | Modern desktop and mobile browsers | Full virtual/hybrid event experience |
Eventscribe Mobile App (for Attendees)
The Eventscribe Mobile App is the preferred way to access your event on a phone or tablet. You can download it for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Supported Devices and Operating Systems
- iPhone and iPad: iOS 18 or later
- Android phones and tablets: Android 14 or later
If your device runs an older operating system than listed above, update it before the event to ensure full functionality.
Eventscribe Website (Desktop and Laptop)
The Eventscribe Website is the best option for accessing the full event from a computer, especially for virtual sessions and livestreams.
Recommended Browsers
For the best experience, use the most recent version of one of these browsers:
- Google Chrome (recommended)
- Mozilla Firefox (recommended)
- Microsoft Edge
- Apple Safari
Beta browser versions are not officially supported. We recommend keeping your browser updated to the latest stable release.
Browser Settings
- Pop-ups must be enabled for the Eventscribe site so virtual sessions, livestreams, and certain widgets can launch correctly.
- Cookies should be enabled for login and session continuity.
- If you use a VPN or remote desktop, disconnect from it before logging in. VPNs can interfere with livestream playback and authentication.
- If something doesn't load correctly, clear your browser cache and cookies and reload the page.
Operating System
The Eventscribe Website works on any modern operating system that supports a current browser, including:
- Windows 10 or later
- macOS (any actively supported version)
- ChromeOS
- Most Linux distributions
Mobile Browser Access
You can access the Eventscribe Website from a phone or tablet browser if you prefer not to install the app.
- iPhone and iPad: Use Safari or Chrome
- Android: Use Chrome or Firefox
For the richest experience, including offline access to schedules and slides, we recommend the Eventscribe Mobile App over the mobile browser.
Internet Connection Requirements
A stable internet connection is essential for virtual sessions, livestreams, and syncing your activity.
| Connection Type | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Download speed | 10 Mbps | 20 Mbps |
| Upload speed (for participation) | 10 Mbps | 20 Mbps |
Tips for a reliable connection:
- Wired (Ethernet) connections are more stable than Wi-Fi.
- Wireless speeds are typically lower than your provider's advertised speeds. You can test your connection at speedtest.net.
- Close unused browser tabs and applications to free up bandwidth.
- Avoid streaming video on other devices during a live session.
Troubleshooting Common Compatibility Issues
| Issue | What to Try |
|---|---|
| Page won't load or appears blank | Clear browser cache and cookies; try Chrome or Firefox; disable VPN |
| Can't log in | Verify pop-ups are enabled; disconnect from VPN; confirm registration email |
| Livestream is buffering | Test internet speed; switch to wired connection; close other tabs |
| App won't install | Confirm your OS version meets requirements; free up storage space |
| QR code scanner won't work | Grant camera permissions in your device settings |
| Audio is choppy | Use a headset rather than built-in speakers; close background apps |
