Overview of Tasks

Tasks are used to collect information from submitters. A submitter can complete a task once they have finished all assigned tasks. Scorecard provides a variety of Tasks that will help you to collect a wide range of data from your submitters.

To add Tasks, navigate to the Tasks module by selecting the Tasks icon in the main navigation bar at the top of the page.

NOTE

You can copy tasks from a previous Scorecard event through the Get Started mission, or by selecting the Tools button at the top of the Tasks page.

If you are setting up a brand-new Scorecard, your screen will resemble the image below (Fig. 1). To begin adding Tasks, select + ADD TASK button in the top left corner of the page to open the Task Index

The Task Index displays all available tasks that a Scorecard can use. The list also indicates which tasks are accessible based on the purchased Scorecard level. For example, Express Scorecards can only use the first nine tasks in the Task Index.

Each task in the Task Index includes a screenshot showing how it appears in a live Scorecard, along with a brief description. If you're unsure which tasks to include, consult with your Scorecard Project Manager.

Here are the most commonly used Tasks in the Scorecard:

  • Author Task: This task requires the submitter to provide author and/or presenter details, with the option to add multiple authors, co-authors, or presenters. Additionally, the Scorecard allows authors other than the submitter to be invited to complete their own information.
  • Abstract Task: This task requires the submitter to provide information specifically related to their Abstract, including text fields with word minimum and maximum limits, as well as options for long and short responses.
  • Survey Task: This task allows you to include various question types, such as checkboxes, dropdowns, short/long responses, date pickers, and Yes/No options. Questions are mapped to custom long/short fields, which can then be used in worksheets and reports.
  • Learning Objectives Task: This task allows the submitter to provide learning objectives in long response fields.
  • Copyright/Permissions Task: This task allows submitters and/or authors to agree to select statements and also requires an electronic signature.
  • Disclosure Task (Submission Based):  Use this task to collect disclosures or potential conflicts of interest from the lead author or all authors at the submission level. Each author will be asked to disclose all their financial relationships, regardless of the number or type of submissions, or whether they believe the relationships are relevant.
  • Disclosure Task (Event Based): Use this task to collect disclosures, or potential conflicts of interest, from either the lead author or all submission authors at the event level. Each author will be asked to disclose all their financial relationships, regardless of the author’s assigned presentations or if the author believes the relationship is relevant.
  • Thumbnail Task: This task requires submitter to upload a thumbnail image that will be displayed next to the submission information.
  • Upload Task: This task allows or requires the upload of various file types, including but not limited to Word and Excel Documents, PDFs, image files, and video files.

To add tasks, select the check box next to the task(s) you would like to use. You can also adjust the quantity of certain tasks to add multiple instances of the same task. Once you have selected all the tasks you need, select Continue in the lower right corner of the pop-up window.

All the tasks that you have added will display within an Inactive bucket on the Tasks page. This means that none of the Tasks are LIVE within the Scorecard until you have made them active and completed necessary edits. It is recommended that you keep your tasks inactive until the settings have been properly configured and tested.
