Create A Landing Page

In some registration situations, you may want to have a landing page that registrants go to before they reach the actual registration form itself. You can use a landing page to create a cleaner looking registration process, or to limit access to the registration form to only those who have been given a promotion code.

To build a Landing Page, you must first set it up in the Meeting Wizard/Web Site Menu section. Click Add, set the Order to 1, Text is Landing Page and select "Landing Page" from the "Links to" drop down list. This will change the URL that displays on the Control Center from your registration form to the landing page.

Next we need to set up the fees in the Fee Schedule so that we can map the landing page options to them. For example, if you wanted two options on the Landing Page, "Delegate Registration" and "Alternate Registration", you would need to set up fees for both. Each would need its own Promotion Code. If you wanted multiple options for each registration type, you can just use the same Promotion Code for each. So, if you offered the following:

Delagate - One Day Registration
Delegate - Two Day Registration
Alternate - One Day Registration
Alternate - Two Day Registration

you would set both the Delegate fees up with the Promo Code "DEL" and both of the Alternate fees up with the Promo Code "ALT".

Now you need to create options to select on the landing page. Go to Meeting Wizard/User Defined Fields. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select "Landing Page UDF's". If you want to create radio button options for the user to choose from, you will need to set them up here. Using our example, you would create checkbox UDF's of "Delegate Registration" and "Alternate Registration". After you create them, you will see buttons displayed to the right of each with the options to "Set Fee" or "Set Redirect". Set Fee will allow you to select the fee that you want your landing page UDF to route you to. Set Redirect allows you to route to a specific URL. For our example, we would select Set Fee and select the "Fee to Link" to "Delegate - One Day Registration", and the "Pass Thru" as "Standard Pass Thru", which will not require the user to enter the Promo Code. Since this fee has a Promo Code, all the fees with that same code will display on the next page, which will be the registration form.

If you want to create a landing page option that only allows those with a given Promo Code to get to the registration page, you would create a Landing Page UDF that is type "Text". Then, when you "Set Fee" you choose any fee that has a Promo Code and set the "Pass Thru" to "Ask for Promo Code". Now, in order to gain access to the fee, the user must enter their Promo Code on the Landing Page.
