Speaker Ready System Internet Requirements

The Speaker Ready System is designed to adapt to your event needs and allow you to configure the network in the best way for a successful event. We recommend reviewing the full Speaker Ready System Technical Requirements article for an in-depth overview of the specific configurations.

For a successful use of Speaker Ready System, we recommend that your network have:

  • 10 Mbps minimum Outbound traffic
  • TCP/443 and whitelist these domains: *.gocadmium.com

Speaker Ready System only requires an active Internet connection for activating the devices.  Once the activation process is complete, Speaker Ready System is designed to operate as a local network to ensure you can easily distribute presentations to the session rooms without any disruption.

Although the Speaker Ready System can be used without Internet, it's important to understand what will not function if the Controller is not connected to the Internet.

  • Any schedule changes from the Education Harvester, such as updating a session’s room, adding/removing a speaker on a session, updating session date or times, will not be shared with Speaker Ready System.
  • Any presentations uploaded to the Education Harvester after activation will not be downloaded to Speaker Ready System.
  • Presentation updates completed in the Speaker Ready System on a Workstation device will not be synced with the event's website and mobile app.
  • All devices will display as offline in Eventscribe Onsite since the Speaker Ready System cannot check-in with the cloud and provide an accurate network status update.

After activation is complete, the Workstation and Podium devices do not need an active Internet connection. These devices are connected to the Controller through the Speaker Ready System network. Presentations will be distributed to the session rooms and the event’s website and mobile app. However, it is important to consider the types of presentations you are expecting from your speakers. Please coordinate with your AV provider if your speakers plan to access the Internet for demonstrations, online videos, etc. on the Podium devices during their presentations.
