Monitoring Your Speaker Ready System Network

CADMIUM RECOMMENDS

We recommend sharing this with your System Operator for the Speaker Ready System.

Once the Speaker Ready System network is activated and the devices are all deployed to the assigned rooms, the System Operator can easily monitor the status of the devices using the system health check.

All devices on the network will check in with the Controller every 5 minutes. If the device does not check-in with the Controller, it will be assigned an offline status.

A device can be marked as offline for a few reasons, such as:

  • The device lid has been closed
  • The device has fallen asleep
  • The device has gone into power saving mode
  • The device has been turned off
  • The device has has lost power

To learn more about troubleshooting these issues, please refer to the Speaker Ready System Troubleshooting article.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Occasionally, you may have to intentionally make a device go offline. In this scenario, the device will still appear in the list of devices with the offline status.

The status of the Speaker Ready System devices can be monitored on the:

Network Status on the Controller Device

The System Operator can monitor the status of the Speaker Ready System devices from the Controller device. To do this, select the Network Status button on the Controller (Fig. 1).

Network Status in Eventscribe Onsite

Device status can also be monitored remotely in the Stations module of Eventscribe Onsite. This is especially helpful if you want to monitor the network while you are away from the Controller device. Since Speaker Ready System is a local network, the Controller will push the network status data to the cloud every 10 minutes. This information will be reflected in Onsite.

NOTE

The System Operator or onsite staff member will need full or admin access to Stations module to access this information. To learn how to grant permission in Eventscribe Onsite, please read this article.

To access device status in Onsite, navigate to the Stations module. This will display a list of all devices that were set up for this event. Use the tabs at the top of the page to navigate to the different device types (Figs. 3-5).

IMPORTANT NOTE

If you intentionally remove a device from the network or make a device go offline, it will still display in this list of devices with an offline status.
