Speaker Ready System creates a scalable network of devices for an event. Each device on the network plays a specific role in the file distribution process: Controller, Workstation or Podium (Fig. 1).
The Controller is the central hub of the Speaker Ready System network (Fig. 2). Workstation or Podium devices will be connected to a single Controller. The Controller has multiple functions:
- System health checks to monitor network status
- System information to view statistics about the network
- Logging speakers in to Workstation devices
- Controls syncing files to and from the cloud
- Distributes files to the Podium devices in the session rooms
CADMIUM RECOMMENDS
Since the Controller device is used to log speakers into Workstation devices, we recommend setting it up in the same location as the Workstation devices.
Workstation devices are used by speakers to review, update or upload presentations onsite. They are typically set up in the Speaker Ready Room or in a designated space for speakers. Once a speaker is logged into the Workstation, they can review their existing presentations, upload a new presentation or update the presentation. Changes made to a presentation on a Workstation will be distributed automatically to the session room, and to the event's website and mobile app (Fig. 3).
Podium devices are set up in the session rooms at an event and provide a user-friendly interface for speakers to select and open their presentations directly in the room (Fig. 4). Speakers can easily navigate to their session on the Speaker Ready System Podium device interface to launch their presentation directly in presentation mode.
