Setting up a Sandbox Merchant Account

Setting up a sandbox merchant account is a helpful way to run test transactions through our system before collecting live payments. Sandbox merchant accounts are set up and operate the same as live processors - they just do not collect any monies.

NOTE

Sandbox accounts are usually available for free from most payment processors. You will need to configure a sandbox account with your payment processor prior to completing the steps listed below.

To add a sandbox merchant account in Cadmium Payments, please follow the steps detailed in the Configuring a New Merchant Account in Cadmium Payments article but select the Sandbox option for your payment processor from the Processor dropdown menu.

CADMIUM RECOMMENDS

To differentiate a sandbox merchant account from a live merchant account, Cadmium recommends using a label that clearly identifies it as a Sandbox account. For example, use the label “SANDBOX - BluePay Testing”.

Once the sandbox merchant account is configured, it will display in the Processing Service Provider dropdown menu in the Eventscribe products’ Settings -> General -> Payments menu. Select the sandbox merchant account from this dropdown menu and begin testing payments.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Payments will not be processed with a sandbox account – therefore, it is imperative that you switch to a live merchant account once testing is complete!
